Background
We initially worked with this customer after being shortlisted for a job on MyBuilder.com.
We had previously been contacted to work on renovating the bathroom. They were very pleased with our work so we were back to do a complete house refurbishment and rear extension to the house. By careful planning, the customer was able to remain in their house throughout, despite the extent of the work.
The customer selected all paint colours, doors, skirting, architraves and flooring.
Main Works
We worked on the loft first, so that once it was finished, the family could move in there whilst work was completed throughout the rest of the house.
To enlarge the living room we removed two chimneys, two walls and a staircase and installed steel beams. All of the damaged plaster was removed back to brick, as well as removing all doors, skirting, architraves, flooring and carpet.
We prepared for skimming and first fix of electrics and central heating. The refurbishment included a complete house rewiring and entire new central heating system before plastering and skimming throughout. New doors, wood flooring, skirting and architraves were installed through the whole house and we also changed the position of the stairs.
The entire house was painted and a second fix of electrics and central heating was completed. We installed new external windows and doors. The electrician and gas certified contractors reviewed the work and provided certificates. We then called the building regulation in for final sign off.
